Meme4Reply ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by The Computer Genies. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

When you sign in with Apple, we may collect the following information:

Name — Your display name, used to personalize your profile within the app.
Email Address — Used for account authentication. If you choose to hide your email through Apple's relay service, we only receive your relay address.
User ID — A unique identifier assigned by Apple, used to maintain your account and link your saved content.

Content You Create

When you create and share memes through the App, we store the following:

Video files and thumbnails you upload or create
Meme titles, tags, and metadata
Likes, shares, and collection assignments

Content you mark as public is visible to other users on the Meme4Reply public feed.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely for app functionality:

To create and manage your account
To display your profile name within the app
To save your meme collections and favorites
To enable social features like the public feed, likes, and sharing
To sync your data across your devices via iCloud
To provide content moderation and enforce our community guidelines

Data Storage

Your data is stored using the following services:

On-Device Storage — Videos, thumbnails, and meme metadata are stored locally on your device using CoreData and the device file system.
Apple CloudKit — Public memes, user profiles, likes, and social interactions are synced and stored using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure, which is subject to Apple's privacy practices and security standards.
Apple Keychain — Your authentication credentials are stored securely in the device Keychain.

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access or disclosure.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Sign in with Apple — For secure, privacy-focused authentication.
Apple CloudKit — For cloud data storage, syncing, and real-time updates.
AVFoundation (Apple) — For on-device video playback, trimming, and thumbnail generation.

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your data for tracking or advertising purposes. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time directly within the App by going to Profile > Settings > Delete Account. When you delete your account:

All your memes are permanently removed from the public feed and CloudKit
Your profile, likes, and social data are deleted
All locally stored videos, thumbnails, and cached data are erased
Your authentication credentials are removed from the device Keychain

This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

Meme4Reply is rated 9+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data and account (available directly in the App)
Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
